The tunes on the new Suno Suno have a labyrinth vibe, continuously amending their architectural stance and providing new paths for the listener to examine. Some are a tad mathy, a trend in jazz these days, but supple maneuvers of the front line (which, like tonight’s gig, includes saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa and pianist Vijay Iyer) bevel the corners and nudge passion to the foreground.
