Don DeLillo (Libra, Point Omega) and Paul Auster (City of Glass, The Brooklyn Follies, Sunset Park), two fierce examiners of the strangeness of ordinary life in the modern world, will read together from the latest issue of Granta at the Union Square Barnes & Noble. Issue 117 of Granta centers on visceral and mental horror, exploring where it lurks in art, literature, and the real world. DeLillo and Auster will read their contributions to the issue--fiction by DeLillo and a meditation by Auster on the death of his mother--and discuss the way bits of horror ooze can into even the most banal moments of everyday existence.
