What Joe DeGeorge of Harry & the Potters calls the “longest joke ever,” others call the founding of wizard rock. Joe and Paul DeGeorge mix a DIY ethos with brash guitar, simple synths, and catchy choruses sung in a perfect deadpan, while the lyrics playfully quip off the Harry Potter series and round out the “inept indie” that defines their instantly likeable sound. Kind of like a pair of Seth Cohens who traded in their comic books for guitars. It’s a good thing they don’t just play at libraries anymore.
