More About

As fierce as an abominable snowman or as fanciful as Shangri-La, the distant nation of Tibet has long fascinated the world . . . which is why we send our fictional explorers there, whether they be young Belgian reporters like Tintin or gun-toting archaeologists like Lara Croft. The Rubin Museum of Art’s new exhibit, Hero, Villain, Yeti: Tibet in Comics, presents the largest collection of comics about the Himalayan nation ever assembled, an international assortment grappling with the facts, stereotypes, and myths of Tibet. An interactive reading area lets you lose yourself in this remote crossroads of daring heroes, ancient wisdom, and mysterious lands.
Mondays, Wednesdays-Sundays, 11 a.m. Starts: Dec. 9. Continues through June 11, 2011
