If you happen to be part of a staff of three at a lit mag based in somebody’s basement in Queens, we can only assume that your biggest holiday woe is the fact that you have neither the venue nor co-worker abundance for a traditionally uncomfortable office party. Fear not, for magazines Slice, Lapham’s Quarterly, and The Coffin Factory are hosting the 2011 Awkward Office Lit Mag Party just in time for the holiday season. Sixpoint Beer will be sold at $3 per glass, and discounted lit magazines will be available by the bundle from both established publishers and tiny start-ups. Like any good awkward office party, there will be a gift exchange, so bring “a cheap, funky, throwaway item,” and trade it in for something hopefully inappropriate.
