Like the fading light of a pleasant summer afternoon, the vague sense of melancholy in Woods' Sun & Shade has become the record's lasting image. The band's seventh album overall, it's also their most consistent in its re-imagination of the 1960s as a collage of dog-eared and obscure dollar bin album covers that look too fantastic or weird to pass up.
