With the seasonal yuletide cheer, flickering lights, and colds that rivals the gulag, it's only natural to have a hankering for the old country this time of year. Frank London satisfies that nostalgia de la Jew, with all the familiar trappings of the shtetl (minus the Cossacks) and the cholent, that old favorite from bubba's cookbook. It's Dixieland with a yarmulke, side curls, and a penchant for the avant-garde. Not to suggest an anachronism, or to imply that klezmer musicians gave Jelly Roll Morton the idea, but these guys have the chutzpah to beg the question. Take your wife, please.
