Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo just debuted his hard-rocking new solo act two months ago, opening for Wild Flag at the Bell House. But now that SY’s future is in doubt (thanks to the recently announced separation of Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon), Ranaldo looks to be picking up the slack with a follow-up headlining gig this week at Glasslands; as before, he’ll be backed by drummer Steve Shelley, guitarist Alan Licht, and bassist Irwin Menken, some of the same guys with whom he made Between the Tides & the Times, due next year on Matador. With Les Bonhommes, featuring members of Deerhoof and Rainer Maria.
