More About

What could be more memorable than the bodacious Anita Ekberg frolicking in the Trevi Fountain in Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita? Today, enjoy this classic from 1960 about a celebrity journalist (Marcello Mastroianni) looking for love in a new 35mm print as part of MOMA’S new series, Italian Treasures. The program, which kicked off December 22, highlights classic Italian films from the 1950s and ’60s, including two with the fiery Anna Magnani: Luchino Visconti’s Bellissima, about a working-class woman who dreams for her seven-year-old daughter to be a movie star, and Mario Monicelli’s Risate di gioia (Joyful Laughter), which concerns a struggling actress on a wild New Year’s Eve.
Mondays-Sundays, noon. Starts: Dec. 22. Continues through Jan. 5, 2011
