Revelers set on ringing in a booze-less 2012 should probably steer clear of Brooklyn Bowl, where Deer Tick is headlining a sure-to-be-sloppy four-band bill. One memorable phrase from the Rhode Island crew’s recent Divine Providence? “I don’t care if there’s a hurricane/Let’s all go the bar!” Sharing the stage (and likely a libation) with Deer Tick are rowdy Southern rockers J Roddy Walston and the Business, the grunge-rootsy Dead Confederate, and Brooklyn’s Virgin Forest, with dudes from Castanets and Phosphorescent. Fun fact: Deer Tick frontman John McCauley just formed a side group with Hardy Morris of Dead Confederate—which means some kind of all-hands jam seems like a safe bet tonight.
