We always love it when a show with secret surprise guests tempts us with the phrase “you never know who will stop by!” Such is the case at Stinson’s Awesome Movie Night, in which “Internet film critic Stinson” (played by the very funny Rob Lathan) screens a hilariously bad film and tells the audience why it’s actually “awesome.” Zach Galifianakis and Horatio Sanz are just a couple of the well-known comedians who have recently appeared on Lathan’s panel of critics, but it’s anyone’s guess who will join him at tonight’s screening of 2012, Roland Emmerich’s sci-fi thriller about what would happen if that ancient Mayan calendar prophecy came true. The show also includes a round of movie trivia and prizes only a film geek could love.
Fri., Dec. 30, 9 p.m., 2011
