More About

The American Realness Festival, which kicked off on Thursday at Abrons Arts Center, is 10 days of 20 performances from the best practitioners of experimental performance, including Big Art Group, Cynthia Hopkins, and festival veterans Ann Liv Young, Jack Ferver, and Keith Hennessy. Tonight, in honor of the festival, downtown impresario Earl Dax presents American Pussy Faggot! Realness, a club night featuring performances on two stages by more than 20 artists, including wild child Dynasty Handbag, sharp-witted singer Joseph Keckler, and the incomparable playwright-performer Edgar Oliver. Penny Arcade and Sophia Lamar host the party, which kicks off with an open vodka bar from 9 to 10. Trust us, nothing else in 2012 will likely get any more “real” than this.
