Brooklyn-born Nicolas Jaar grew up in Santiago (cue Villalobos comparisons) before matriculating at Brown and finding a home for his sophisticated, organic tech-house on NYC’s own Wolf + Lamb. As he moves into his own Clown and Sunset label, Jaar’s work is becoming increasingly articulate and personal (and even less dancefloor-oriented), so tonight provides an opportunity to see a still very young artist entering a new phase of his career in the wake of last year’s smart Space is Only Noise.
