In 2003, the Rapture released the single “House of Jealous Lovers” and its parent album Echoes, looking to the post-punk past to help usher in a new era of New York City rock and dance music. As frontman Luke Jenner explained in a recent blog post,
“[W]e were the first band of our generation to write a really killer song that incorporated something that you could DJ in a club.” Tonight, the Rapture look to the stars, DJing the American Museum of Natural History’s monthly One Step Beyond party alongside genre-fusing post-techno producer Prefuse 73 and hoping to prove that their records move crowds not only in clubs but also in planetariums.
