Billy Crystal is making his ninth outing as the host of the Oscars this year, but our favorite local host has got him beat. It’s Academy Awards ceremony number 11 for Murray Hill when he presides over his annual Oscar Party at Joe’s Pub. And this year, there’s a twist, for Hill will be
appearing as none other than modern-day silent-film star Jean Dujardin. As usual, there will be a red carpet, trivia and prizes, an Oscar ballot, and interviews with the nominees—as performed by Cole Escola, Tansy Tan Dora, Carolyn Castiglia, Robin Cloud, and Drae Campbell. And, of course, Hill’s biting running commentary to keep us occupied during the commercials.
