More About

The enigmatic Bay Area group continues its multidecade exploration of the dark heart of pop music with a new performance piece, "Sam's Enchanted Evening." Pseudonymous lead singer Randy Rose plays an elderly homeless alcoholic reliving his life through American hits ranging from "Davy Crockett" (dig it, Mitt) and "So Lonesome I Could Cry" to "Born to Be Wild" (during his Vietnam years) and "La Vida Loca," all accompanied by pianist Joshua Raoul Brody. Randy Rose, possibly the bleakest baby-boomer to come down the pike, will devastate you.
