March Madness is in full swing, with the NCAA Final Four happening today and the championship game on Monday, and there’s a lot of sports-bar fun to be had as the ultimate brackets are decided for 2012. But where to go? Here are three spots we recommend for the drink specials, the food, and the great crowd: Jack Demsey’s: This Irish pub, a hangout for rugby and boxing fans, also claims to be the home of the local Kentucky Wildcats crowd, and that’s enough basketball credentials for me. Try the Kick-Ass wings, and the real food (shepherd’s pie, bayou chicken pasta) is good, too. 36 West 33rd Street, 212-629-9899 Go Burger: These folks are so college-oriented that if you wear your alma mater’s colors or carry an alumnus ID, you get meals for half off. Plus they have a Jeremy Lin burger, which is topped with guacamole, pickled jalapeños, Monterey Jack cheese, and crispy wonton strips. 1448 Second Avenue, 212-988-9822 Bar None: Not as fancy as many of the sports-bar venues, but always a blast, Bar None has a great selections of draft beer and always has drink specials.
