More About

No need to guess why budding filmmaker and actor Lena Dunham would find Whit Stillman's The Last Days of Disco (1998) inspiring. The story of two young women sharing a railroad apartment, struggling in their entry-level book-publishing jobs, and partying all night sounds very similar to Dunham's new HBO series, Girls, about four young women trying to make it in the city. Tonight, Dunham discusses the film with Stillman and actor Chris Eigeman as a part of the film series of female-centric films she has chosen for BAM titled "Hey, Girlfriend! Lena Dunham Selects" (which continues until April 8).
Thu., April 5, 6:50 p.m., 2012
