Since the indie publishing empire McSweeney’s was founded by Dave Eggers in 1998, they’ve put out books that are both wonderful to read and beautiful to hold from newcomers as well as names you know, such as David Byrne, Lydia Davis, Miranda July, and, of course, Eggers himself. Tonight, McSweeney’s presents an evening hosted by editor Ethan Nosowsky with readings of short stories from two of its most recently published writers: Diane Williams, author of Vicky Swanky Is a Beauty and editor of NOON, and Adam Levin, author of Hot Pink. Saïd Sayrafiezadeh, whose report from the first weeks of Occupy Wall Street appears in the latest issue of McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, will also read.
