More About

Guy Delisle is used to being a stranger on foreign soil: His older works—titled Shenzhen, Pyongyang, and Burma Chronicles—colorfully followed his journeys to the lesser-known spots in the developing world. But this time around, he went to a place a little more notorious. In Jerusalem: Chronicles From the Holy City, the winner of the comic world's highest honor, the Fauve d'Or, explores the citizen life in one of the most culturally divided cities in the world. In a style that he has established as his signature, the cartoonist creates a work that focuses on the simple subtleties in everyday life to paint a more complex larger picture. At this premiere event for the book, Delisle will begin a nationwide tour to introduce readers to the Holy City in comic-book form.
