LCD Soundsystem fans still mourning the premature death of that outfit could do worse than to throw in their lot with Tanlines, the Brooklyn-based indie-dance duo that just released its excellent full-length debut, Mixed Emotions. Like LCD's stuff, this is gimlet-eyed groove music about aging and adulthood (one song is called—horror of horrors—"Real Life"); the difference derives from Jesse Cohen and Eric Emm's preference for slick '80s pop over the cranky avant-rock James Murphy extols in "Losing My Edge." This hometown show is already sold out, but you're strongly advised to find a way in—perhaps through Twitter, on which Cohen is something of an expert.
