More About

Ballet Hispanico is raising the bar this season with an extensive repertoire of works that honor the dance company's deep Latino roots, dipping into African and Caribbean influences to show off the full array of the dancers' talents. Works to be performed in tonight's program include "Espiritu Vivo," a meditation on the stages of grief created by Ronald K. Brown and set to music by Afro-Peruvian Latin Grammy Award–winner Susana Baca, who will perform live; "Asuka," a lively homage to salsa legend Celia Cruz; and "Nube Blanco," choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa's contemporary take on flamenco, inspired by the songs of Spanish singer María Dolores Pradera.
Mondays-Sundays, 8 p.m. Starts: April 17. Continues through April 29, 2012
