More About

If you thought that the rise of digital media called for zine culture's inevitable demise, think again. Today, Public Assembly in Williamsburg welcomes the first annual Brooklyn Zine Fest to its spacious chambers in an all-day celebration
of DIY alt/indie (print!) magazines for all ages. Browse the works of more than 60 writers, artists, photographers, and publishers contributing to both established and up-and-coming DIY publications. Printed goods will be for sale, and more than $1,500 in prizes—including a year's subscription to Zine of the Month and assorted comics from Forbidden Planet—will be raffled off. This kid-friendly event is free and open to the public, with refreshments provided (but please limit "marzinis" from the full bar to the seasoned DIY enthusiasts among us).
