Kronos Quartet

For the inaugural event of this year’s PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature, Seattle’s Kronos Quartet—contemporary classical music’s Fantastic Four, now in its 39th year—will perform between readings by writers Tony Kushner, Marjane Satrapi, and Rula Jebreal in a theater inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a program dubbed “Exit Strategies.” Tasked with finding ways to make music and literature coalesce, the ensemble will play a wide variety of music, including traditional tunes from Iran and Lebanon, as well as works by Laurie Anderson, Hamza El Din, Terry Riley and more.
Wed., May 2, 7 p.m., 2012
