More About

What a thrill it is whenever our New Yorker arrives with a new David Sedaris dispatch from Europe. The humorist’s latest story in the magazine, “Dentists Without Borders,” contrasts his own experiences with socialized medicine in Paris to the pictures of health care reform drawn by most Republicans, who make it seem as though European patients are forced to “languish on filthy cots waiting for aspirin to be invented.” However, there is only one thing funnier than reading Sedaris’s autobiographical works—which include the collections Naked and Me Talk Pretty One Day—and that’s hearing him tell his witty stories live on stage with all the sighs and dramatic pauses only he can do. Tonight (and Monday, May 7), catch him when he comes to Brooklyn for a program of all-new readings and a book signing.
Mon., May 7, 7:30 p.m.; Tue., May 8, 7:30 p.m., 2012
