There's only one (hip) community in New York City that has the last word on Cinco de Mayo festivities, and that's the ladies from Mex and the City, who have hosted Cinco de Gallo along with Que Bajo DJs Geko Jones and Uproot Andy for the past three years. So what's the difference between this party and every other Cinco de Mayo celebration? A) It's not a cheesy pub crawl. B) You'll get to experience the best of contemporary Mexican culture in America, showcasing both folkloric traditions and modern Mexican talent, including Tejano rapper Chingo Bling, San Antonio–based DJ/producer Sonora, as well as the sounds of Que Bajo. Don't bring your sombrero; you'll just need good dancing shoes.
