Look, I’m as heartened as anyone by this L.A. hippie-pop crew’s convention-defying success: the big sales, the sold-out shows, for sure the spot on this month’s What to Expect When You’re Expecting soundtrack. But I must admit that I’m less amped to hear Edward Sharpe’s upcoming Home than I would be about a new record by frontman Alex Ebert’s old synth-rock band, Ima Robot. That crew seemed in on the joke, which made laughing way more fun.
