More About

Who didn't want red boots after seeing a skinny, greasy-haired Vincent Gallo strut around in a pair in Buffalo '66? In his 1998 directorial debut, Gallo stars as Billy Brown, a troubled soul who gets out of prison and kidnaps a young woman (played by Christina Ricci) from a tap-dancing class. Forcing her to pose as his girlfriend, Billy takes her to see his emotionally cold NFL-obsessed parents (Anjelica Huston and Ben Gazzara) in hopes that they'll believe his lies about where he's been for the past five years before setting out to get revenge on the man he blames for his imprisonment. Partly autobiographical, the film uses a house where Gallo lived with his parents in Buffalo and a recording of his own father singing. Tonight, hear how the script came together when Gallo’s co-screenwriter Alison Bagnall tells all to filmmaker Alex Ross Perry after the screening.
