More About

With the summer Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee coming up, the British literary magazine Granta decided it was high time it devoted an issue to stories right in its own backyard. At tonight’s launch party for the “Britain” issue, hear emerging literary talent Tania James read from her story “Lion and Panther in London,” about two brothers from Lahore who seek fame as wrestlers in turn-of-the-century England. Blue Logan plays a range of music from dancehall to dubstep while you enjoy traditional British drinks and refreshments. A donation to Housing Works will get you a Granta tote bag and a copy of the issue, which includes new fiction, memoir, and poetry from 20 writers, including Tom Stoppard, Mario Vargas Llosa, Natalia Koliada, and Rachel Seiffert.
