More About

Reflecting on the past via journals and photographs can sometimes be depressing. So what if we could invent our future now and be happy forever? Japanese artist Rieko KOGA, known for expressing her artwork through needles and threads and working spontaneously using a dressmaking technique, is inventing your future memories in “Future Diary/Here We Are.” In this installation, KOGA asks 39 questions about your future on a long white cloth scroll, which rolls out from the ceiling as though it could be never ending. KOGA states: “The power of words and thoughts is very strong. If you are sad now, or if you can’t advance because you are afraid, please remember this artwork. This is your future diary.” Aww.
