More About

You’ve likely seen the black-and-white image dozens of times of a man dangerously hanging from the hands of a large clock on a building overlooking traffic. The man is, of course, silent-film star Harold Lloyd in the 1923 film Safety Last!, about a salesclerk whose “human fly” publicity stunt goes terribly awry when the real climber has a run-in with the law and the clerk is forced to climb the skyscraper himself. Catch all of the uproarious gags and
romance (Lloyd’s sweetheart in the film is played by his future wife, Mildred Davis) when it comes to Film Forum, with pianist Steve Sterner providing the live accompaniment. The screening is a part of Film Forum’s Harold Lloyd series, which runs through November 5.
Sun., Sept. 2, 3 p.m.; Mon., Sept. 3, 7 p.m., 2012
