In Craig Wright’s dark comedy Grace, a young religious couple from Minnesota think they’ve found the answer to their prayers when they plan to open a chain of gospel-themed motels in Florida (their motto: “Where Would Jesus Stay?”). But not all goes according to God’s plan after they meet their neighbor—a rocket scientist whose fiancée was recently killed in a car accident. The show received three L.A. Drama Critics Circle Awards, including Best Play, when it came to the Pasadena Playhouse in Los Angeles in 2006. The Broadway premiere should be just as good with this cast, which includes Paul Rudd and Kate Arrington as the eager Bible thumpers, Oscar nominee Michael Shannon as the rocket scientist, and Ed Asner as a cranky pest-control man. Dexter Bullard (Bug) directs.
