Allow us to direct you to the Brooklyn Book Festival, where authors of all varieties (novelists, cooks, foreign correspondents, guitarists of Hole) will be discussing and signing their new works. Panels not to miss include “The Fragility of Electability: Campaigns, Character and Messing With Texas,” a conversation with Gail Collins, Jodi Kantor, and John MacArthur, and “Marriage and Monogamy,” a discussion with Dan Savage and others on why anyone still wants to tie the knot. Plus, catch workshops (Tracy White’s “Creating Comics from Life” should be a good one), readings from big-name award winners, including Joyce Carol Oates and Edwidge Danticat, and a special appearance by . . .
