More About

Kicking off its first season in its brand-new theater, St. Ann's Warehouse opens with the acclaimed production of Mies Julie, a winner of the Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award at this year's Fringe festival. Moving the action of August Strindberg's drama Miss Julie to South Africa 18 years after apartheid, writer-director Yael Farber, a native of Johannesburg, explores conflicts over race, class, and power between lovers John, a black servant, and Julie, a white woman whose house sits on land that once belonged to John's family. Now receiving its American premiere, the play is presented with The Baxter Theatre Centre at the University of Cape Town in association with South African State Theatre. Schedule varies; check website for details.
Mondays-Sundays, 8 p.m. Starts: Nov. 2. Continues through Dec. 16, 2012
