Writer and book lover Jen Adams began a blog on Tumblr called The Books They Gave Me, in which people submitted stories about books that were given to them to capture the many ways novels can change lives. She then collected nearly 200 of the most provocative stories and turned them into—what else?—a book! Celebrate her collection tonight at Tumblr Prep!, a launch party and evening of adult-education classes on myriad subjects. Adams will represent English class, Jason Oberholtzer (I Love Charts) will be math, Michelle Legro (My Daguerreotype Boyfriend) is history, and Phil Edwards (Fake Science) is, of course, science.
