Baker's vocabulary of off beats, counter beats, fills, etc. set him apart from Bonham and just about every other rock drummer. Bonzo was very average in that regard. A great pounder but, a pounder nonetheless.
A simple example of Baker's unique talents is the ending to FM radio staple, the 'live' Crossroads track from Cream.Ending with a standard Blues outro, Ginger accents each note Clapton plays, then amazingly fills the hole before the final hit with a doubled up paradiddle slap like only he could. You can listen to hundreds of drummers play that atypical Blues out lick and never hear anyone do it like that (they couldn't)
