More About

If you think you might rather spend
an evening surfing the Web than out
at the theater, Quiara Alegria Hudes has
a play for you. The second drama in her poignant “Elliot Trilogy,” Water by the Spoonful concerns, as one character says, “wanting relationships. With humans,
not ones and zeroes.” The winner of the 2012 Pulitzer Prize, the script follows
several struggling North Philly cousins
as well as the members of an Internet
chat group for recovering addicts that
one of the cousins runs. By turns moving, humorous, severe, and generous, the play describes our longing for human contact and the impediments to achieving it. Davis McCallum, who helmed the play’s Hartford premiere, returns to give it a second staging at Second Stage.
Tuesdays, 7 p.m.; Wednesdays, Saturdays, 2 p.m.; Wednesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m. Starts: Dec. 11. Continues through Jan. 27, 2012
