It’s Christmas Eve, and just about everything’s closed—what’s a Jew to do? Get Chinese, of course! Enter Veronica Chan, Jeff Orlick, and their brainchild, Woks and Lox. Together with chef Chichi Wang, Woks and Lox brings these cultures together for their annual Jewish/Chinese Christmas Eve party. Nosh on dishes like ginger-shiitake matzoh ball and rice cake soup and five-spice latkes while sipping a special Woks and Lox–inspired brew from Single Cut, spinning the dreidel, and playing mahjong. Guests can also enter the Chinese auction and win prizes from Soy Vay, Katz’s Deli, Orlick’s Own, Jeffrey Tastes Food Tours, and Chan’s, Hail the Right Brain duct tape wallet company. Proceeds from the auction go to Jews for Racial and Economic Justice and the Committee Against Anti-Asian Violence.
