When last we saw playwright Erin Courtney, she was taking home an Obie for A Map of Virtue, a horror story at once compassionate and pitiless, for theater collective 13P. With that group dissolved, she’s now teamed with the Adhesive Theater Project for The Service Road, a sticky new play that also explores the human capacity for good and evil. Set amid the woods and meadows of Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, during a devastating Sandy-like storm, the drama concerns a nature guide searching for a lost child. With a cast of four actors assisted by a video puppet and live sound effects, director Meghan Finn stages this city pastoral in a distinctly urban environment: the Voorhees Theatre at the New York City College of Technology, located in Downtown Brooklyn.
Mondays-Sundays, 8 p.m. Starts: Jan. 11. Continues through Feb. 2, 2013
