More About

It’s been 15 years since Matthew Shepard was beaten, bound to a fence, and left to die on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming. Just a few weeks later, director Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project traveled to Laramie to gather what would become The Laramie Project, a singularly incisive and moving piece of documentary drama that examined not only the impact of Shepard’s death on the community, but also the
difficulty of portraying his story. A decade later, the troupe returned again to explore how the story of Shepard’s death and its legacy had altered in the intervening years, crafting The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later. Now the Brooklyn Academy
of Music will present both plays, together exploring how we come to narrate, understand, and revise tragedy.
Mondays-Sundays, 8 p.m. Starts: Feb. 12. Continues through Feb. 24, 2013
