More About

Rising comedian John Mulaney may be a 30-year-old full-fledged adult, but he’s blessed (or, in his opinion, cursed) with one of those sweet, boyish faces that can’t be outgrown. As he jokes in his recent Comedy Central special New in Town, when he walks down the street, people point and say, “Whoa! That tall child looks terrible. Get some rest, tall child! You can’t keep burning the candle at both ends.” Mulaney, who started out doing a weekly show in the East Village with Nick Kroll called the Oh, Hello Show, is now well known as a writer on Saturday Night Live (he co-created Stefon with Bill Hader) and for his own incredibly smart stand-up routines that include stories ranging from his most shameful moments (alcohol-
fueled blackouts, rectal exams) to wickedly funny pranks (he once played Tom Jones’s “What’s New, Pussycat?” in a diner 21 times in a row). Catch him at Carolines for four nights. He’ll be the one dressed as a tall child in a suit.
