I just find the street scene so problematic. Yes, we are expected to read it as Blanco turning the tables on the teen bullies but there is something so strange about a group of 12-14 year old black girls/children being gestured and pointed to while Blanco blasts them as bitches and hoes. I don't get the feminism of that at all. By the end yes they are cheering but why do I feel sad about these black girls cheering on the same ole language that is exclusively used against them. Sorry but you gotta come better than that...
