The hardest part of the Brooklyn Lit Crawl—a night of readings, sing-alongs, impromptu writing exercises, and games at various locations around Smith Street—is coming to terms with the fact that you can’t attend all 18 great events. But here’s one way to go: Start at the offices of the literary magazine A Public Space, with readings by John Haskell, Brett Fletcher Lauer, J. Robert Lennon, and Fiona Maazel. Then, head to Irish bar Ceol for a pint and Vol. 1 Brooklyn’s “Five-Minute Tales of Freelance Terror,” chilling stories of late paychecks, stolen ideas, and other tales of writerly woe. And lastly, trek to the Brazen Head, where Seth Fried and the editors of Tin House will host a trivia game about literary feuds and insults with plenty of prizes. Head to the website to plan your own route.
