Entering the second floor of the Whitney Museum you might feel as if you’ve stepped into a hot air balloon that has drifted high above Manhattan. “T.J. Wilcox: In the Air” is a huge installation, literally, with a spectacular round bird’s-eye view of Lower Manhattan that was shot from the artist’s rooftop studio. The panoramic projection (six projectors in total) is a huge, glowing, circular screen, eight feet tall and 35 feet in diameter. Visitors are encouraged enter the round projection and experience a 360-degree view of New York City. No safety net needed.
Wednesdays-Sundays, 11 a.m. Starts: Nov. 15. Continues through Feb. 9, 2013
