The Circle Theater of New York brings its credo of ambitious storytelling to a converted warehouse space. By “ambitious,” we are talking circus, theater, dance, visual art and music, all reified into performance art. While “performance art” may not sound any less abstract than the aforementioned arts, the Brooklyn Live Art Market is best understood through experience — or perhaps is not meant to be understood at all, because stimuli provided by more than 50 notable artists in one space encourages visitors to bask in its energy rather than mull it over. Comic artists April Malig and Sasha Steinberg, stage designer Carlo Quispe, emoji-enhancing graphic artist John Lisle and many more carve out an immersive promenade to saunter through while The Simpletons and Independent Music Award-winning Rocket and the Ghost provide musical accompaniment. Expect bowling pin jugglers, tightrope walkers, trapeze artists, and of course, the unexpected.
