Blue Note

Santessa is simply cool. Her sound is smooth and her voice is chill. Her show at the Blue Note was pretty good, but there was a minor issue with the sound. It was sometimes difficult to hear her voice. She has a very soft voice and is not a "loud" singer, so she does rely on a good sound system. At times, her sultry voice was overpowered by her band, which was solid and talented. She has a song called "Phased", which I was looking forward to hearing. She did not play it, telling me after the show that it "does not translate live." I would recommend she do something to make it a live song, as I feel it is her best work. Santessa is a good talent and I hope to see more of her in the future. I would recommend catching her show if you ever have a chance.
