Best New Rock Club (2008)

Ever since NORTHSIX opened last year, touring rock bands increasingly have been scheduling Brooklyn dates in addition to Manhattan ones—a very good thing, unless we're talking about the Pat McGee Band. The Williamsburg hot spot, which often books acts that could fill rooms twice its size, offers just about everything you could ask for in a live music venue: good sound, two bars, plenty of bathrooms, air-conditioning, admission for all ages, and lots of cute, single hipsters. It's even got a chillout area with a fishtank. But whatever you do, don't stand on the stage unless you're performing or roadie-ing. I did that once at a Lightning Bolt show, and the bouncers went ballistic.
