Bet you thought I'd pick Murray's for the umpteenth time. Well, this year the palm goes to newcomer the BEDFORD CHEESE SHOP, wedged into a former girdle factory in the heart of the 'Burg. The display case is jammed with twice as many cheeses as it can well hold, most at the peak of ripeness. A recent foray turned up a seasonal piave from Italy's Veneto regioncrumbly and tart like a well-aged Gouda.
