Best Haughty Hotel Dining (2008)


Though only a few months old, the Ritz-Carlton's ATELIER has already distinguished itself as one of the finest old-guard French restaurants in town, heavy on the foie gras and caviar, but also exploring new culinary territory with a peasant flour soup sporting a wad of frog meat in the middle, and rack of lamb crusted with five types of peppercorn. The habitual use of breakfast cereals in the desserts is also an intriguing early feature.
