Best Vitello Tonnato in the East Village (2008)
I don't know who came up with the inspired combination of thin slices of veal roast served in a creamy tuna sauce, but bravo! This Italian classic is a summer treat that has had me racing across town in search of yet another variation. My current favorite is the one at I Coppi. While waiting, indulge in a dish of thinly sliced porcini mushrooms drizzled with olive oil and finished with parmesan or a market salad of fresh arugula. While the weather holds out, head for the garden and dine under the stars.
